It’s rather hard to see, but there is a flock of birds sitting on the dark green area near the fence. I posted a photo of this golf course a while back, but this angle is in the other direction.

Posted in Suburbia with tags backyard, grass, green on April 8, 2010 by purplesnowflakeWell, the good news is – I have been taking the photos. The bad news is – I haven’t had time to post them.
So let’s see if I can sort of get caught up…
This was taken at a client’s house. This photo doesn’t do justice to showing how green this yard is. His two dog’s stay out in the backyard and although it is not in the photo – they have ‘trails’ leading through this tall lush grass.
Wish my yard looked like this…..so far…we seem to have a bumper crop of green onions and crabgrass coming in!

Same subdivision as the PODS – caught these guys standing around in someones yard yesterday. There were probably about 8 of them and one was just standing in the road when I went by. To the right – in someone else’s yard – were two Mallard Ducks, but they were standing behind a trash can and there was no way to get a good picture. There is NO lake in this subdivision, but there is one across the road at the beginning of the subdivision. Not sure what these guys were doing this far away from it – unless they were looking for dry land!

It was raining and hard to get a good picture, but I got rather amused by all these PODS sitting in front of a house in a subdivision I was pet sitting in.
If you are not familiar with them – they are a type of storage unit that is delivered to you – and once they are filled – the company comes back and gets them and then they stack them somewhere until you are ready to get your stuff back.
All I could think of – when I saw them – was the old black and white movie “Invasion of the Pod People”.
Day 13 (01-28-10)

This is one of those weeks where it has been really hard to find stuff that I actually wanted to take a photo of.
I finally found this tree over at one my clients. She has a very tall deck and when you stand on it – you can look down and see what both of her dogs are up to, so while they were doing their ‘thing’ I stood up there looking out at her backyard.
This tree caught my eye because it is so much taller than all the other trees she has. The fact that I am up higher – really makes it look big!
Day One – A NEW BEGINNING
Posted in Photography, Project 365, Suburbia with tags Georgia, Marietta, Project 365, The Avenue on January 1, 2010 by purplesnowflakeLast year’s PROJECT 365 ended in defeat, but it’s a new year and time for a new beginning.
So….without further adieu — here is my first photo for 2010.
This was taken at THE AVENUE in Marietta. A rather dapper looking fellow – I guess he is waiting for the season rush to be over before returning to the north pole!
Day 109
Posted in Suburbia with tags Driveway, steep, subdivision on May 5, 2009 by purplesnowflake
Okay, so we are having a bit of lag time between the time I take the pictures and the time they are getting posted….Aargh!
This one was took on Sunday. It is suppose to show how steep this driveway is and how my Jeep is sitting waaaayyyyy up there at the top.
Unfortunately, you can only see the Jeep when you look at the photo on the phone – transferred to the computer – it became just the driveway.
The drive – if you can’t tell is very steep. I don’t pull down it because the clients leave their cars and take their motorcycles when they go on vacation and I have never figured out how to pull all the way down to the house and then be able to turn my Jeep around and get back out.
So….I park at the top….walk down…and walk back up. By the end of the week…my calves feel like I’ve done 1000 steps on the Stairmaster at a gym and my arm is sore from all the Frisbee throwing (remember the Frisbee in another photo a month or so ago?).
Needless to say — I always feel like I have had a workout each day. I really should just see if I can’t pay the homeowners to let me walk up and down their driveway….I would never have to pay gym fees again!
Day 105

This was from yesterday.
One of my clients has this plant in their front yard.
Shortly after I took it — their three dogs sprinted by it and the petals fell off the top flower! Today…they got the yellow one! :-O

Remember the photo of the golf ball?
This is where it came from.
I thought the clouds looked pretty interesting….course they made the shot too dark, but since my battery on the camera phone was going dead – I guess it’s just a good thing I was even able to get a shot!
Back to Atlanta tomorrow — going up I-20 again…<gulp>….not sure what I’ll try to photography, but it is going to be a stressful ride and a stressful day….so oughta be interesting….
Day Ninety-Five
Posted in Photography, Project 365, Suburbia with tags Kung Fu Panda, toy on April 20, 2009 by purplesnowflake
Thunderstorms last night so I never was able to get online to post this one!
This (Kung Fu Panda) guy showed up at a client’s house a few months after the movie came out.
There are a bunch of potted plants on a counter in the kitchen. Below this space is where the dog’s food and water are kept.
I looked up one evening after refilling the water and there he was, standing in between a couple of the flower pots!
I always get a kick out of seeing him – funny!
