Day 105

punch of color...This was from yesterday.

One of my clients has this plant in their front yard.

Shortly after I took it — their three dogs sprinted by it and the petals fell off the top flower! Today…they got the yellow one! :-O

Garden FairyTook this one on the right day, but didn’t have a chance to get on here to post it….

This is a rather large fairy in our yard.

If you recall… the goddess Kowena (also in my yard)…had lost her head and was cut in half….but we still had her put back together…

Well, this poor fairy is missing an arm! 😦

A tree limb fell and took it off.

We need the right kind of glue to fix it, but haven’t ever gotten around to getting any.

Meanwhile…wait until one day…when I get photos of our Garden Gnomes….scary!

Day 103

Old CourthouseGot this one yesterday, but couldn’t get the phone to send it to the computer! (Some days the phone just has a mind of its own!).

This is the courthouse in the center of town. (There was a shot of the back of it taken at the Feed Store a few weeks ago – as you may recall…).

I snapped this one while waiting at the red light. No way to get the whole thing into the shot from this angle — in fact —there is only one or two places you can stand and catch the whole front of the courthouse! I learned this when I had to actually DRAW the courthouse for a class I took a few years ago (I was working on a degree in Architecture and Design before life threw me a curve ball!!!).

They built a new courthouse because the county has grown so much in the last few years – parking was beginning to be a major problem and I guess not enough courtrooms and office space to accommodate everything.

This is now going to be a satellite college. Highland college…I believe (???) and Kennesaw College are going to share the space. I am hopeful that they will have some continuing education classes here when they open….Creative Writing, Spanish 101, Photography (ha-ha!) would all be on my list!

Day 102 ~ Bonus Shot

Got Chips? What good are chips if you don’t have salsa to go with them? 😉

Now…I do NOT like hot, hot, hot salsa…I like a mild salsa…just a small kick…not so much that you have to run looking for a fire extinguisher!

This salsa is JUST right! 🙂

Chips!I’m not sure how or when we started the tradition…but Sunday afternoon is usually when we end up at a Mexican restaurant.

Now…I can’t prove it….but I am convinced that they either put something in the chips or something in the salsa…

Why? Because once you dip one of the chips into the salsa….it is really, really hard to stop!

THESE chips…came to the table warm and super crunchy!!! Can you tell we were already working out way through them?!

Needless to say – we could see the bottom of the basket by the time the meal was over!

Yum!

chopperThere we go…much better.. (bigger photo)…

Doesn’t it look like it is really flying in the air!?

If you were up close — you would see that it even has a pilot in it!

There were a couple more tanks (older ones) and an artillery something-or-other (large gun that is on wheels…) around the trail.

I’ll have to return on a cooler day and check this place out! 🙂

Both shots were taken from the comfort of air conditioning in the truck!

Tank1So the silly camera phone took a small shot of this one….

Yep…if you squint you can see it….it’s a TANK!

We went to the Highway 78 yard sale (20 miles of road with yard sales scattered here an there along the way…).

No, silly…the TANK was NOT for sale (before you ask….). There were several old Army relics at this building when we went by…they appear to be along a walking trail and we think the building that they are in front of is an American Legion…

You’re just driving along…and…there they are….very strange….

Day……100!!!!!!! and…it’s CREPE MYRTLE FRIDAY!!!

Grogan's Country StoreGrabbed this one on the way home from Acworth, Georgia yesterday. Had to go to bed super-early to go back to Atlanta again bright and early this morning….so never did get a chance to get online and post this…

This use to be an old convenience store – now it sits vacant and awaiting demolition if the corner ever sales…

A nice new gas station sits across the street from it….guess one day soon — old stores like this will be just a distant memory….

kumquatsGot down to the wire on this one….(the 11-12 hour…)

These are some kumquats I bought. Every time I open the fridge I see their bright orange color.

Normally I love them, but this batch was a little on the overly tart side.  Aren’t they pretty though!?
